Easter Destination

Daddy: If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
The Boy: Candyland.
Daddy: Okay, if you could go anywhere in the world that was real, where would you go?
The Boy: Hmmmm.
Daddy: It starts with a z.
The Boy: I'd go where the zebras are.
Daddy: Close enough, let's go to the zoo.

Movies

I took The Boy to see "Monsters vs. Aliens", the IMAX 3D adventure. According to The Boy 3D is totally AWESOME Mom!

The movie was only 1 1/2 hours and very funny. I enjoyed it just as much as he did.

Random Question of the Day

At the dinner table last night...prior to this question, we were talking about practicing the piano.

The Boy: Momma, how does the Easter Bunny get into the house?
Momma: That is a great question...Daddy, how does the Easter Bunny get into the house? (The Husband is better at thinking on his feet.)
The Boy: Ya, Daddy, how does the Easter Bunny get into the house?

The Husband went into this semi-long explanation about how the Easter Bunny is really good friends with Santa Claus and how Santa Claus has shared his secret way into the house with the Bunny. It seemed to work. The Boy responded by saying, 'I don't really like the middle of an egg.'

We better get our act together for when the really hard questions come out of his mouth.

Cookie Monster

Like many working mommas, I live for the weekends. I often feel like my whole being revolves around making the most of the time I get to spend with the kiddos when I am not working. The concentrated amount of time on weekends is worth its weight in gold to me. Recently, I have been working at least 3 hours on any given weekend. This throws a major wrench in my theory of spending as much time as I can with The Boy and The Girl (The Husband, too), making memories. Keep repeating quality of time, not quantity of time. All in all, I think we do a pretty good job. We watched a softball game, went to the zoo and baked cookies this weekend. Not too shabby.

The Boy loves to bake cookies. I think this is due to the fact that he likes to eat the ingredients as we make the cookies. Last night we made oatmeal raisin cookies. The Husband's favorite. We made them after dinner. The Boy took a bath while they were cooking. I put The Girl to bed, cleaned the kitchen, etc., etc. By this time the cookies were out of the oven and cool enough to eat. I handed The Boy a cookie on the smaller side. I have to say, it wasn't perfectly round. Boy, did he notice. He told me he didn't want to eat half a cookie, he wanted the whole one. The one on the right is the whole cookie.

Spring Break

The Boy has been on Spring Break all week and The Husband and I have been splitting the days/week to take care of him. Let me just say that at this point, The Boy has a great work ethic. He helped The Husband mow the lawn and trim bushes on Monday and Wednesday. He helped me clean bathrooms on Tuesday. Today he is flipping the flower beds...he has loved it.

I hope he always enjoys cleaning and yard work. Probably not going to happen, but we can dream.
