Sympathy Cravings

I really haven't had any terribly strange cravings this time around , but there is still time I guess. I have wanted a lot of fruit. And, early on I wanted things that were "drippy" like ribs. We will see how the weeks change my desires for food.

This morning, I had to wonder if The Boy was having cravings. The Husband fixed him a small bowl of cereal per usual. The Boy ate it all up and finished getting ready for school. With his coat on, he opened the door to the refrigerator, perused a bit and then asked his Daddy, "Can you fix me a bowl of pickles?"

We have never given The Boy a bowl of pickles before and all we have in the house are those petite dill pickles. So, The Husband gave The Boy a pickle in a bowl. He munched on it in the car on the way to school. I am sure his teachers thought the smell of pickles was a little weird this morning, but who can judge what a boy wants? At least he is eating breakfast.

Extra, Extra Read All About It

I am officially out of hiding. Our little family is about to get one baby bigger. Woohoo! At this point, family knows, most friends know and work knows. It isn't like I could keep the cat in the bag much longer as I look like I did when I was five months with The Boy and I am only three months pregnant. I guess it is true what they say, you start to show quicker with your second pregnancy.

A couple of things we will be doing differently this time...

1. We ARE NOT finding out the gender of the baby. The Husband wanted to know with The Boy, so I gave in, but not this time...I want to have the genuine surprise.

2. We will let more people help us this time. With The Boy we were in Texas...far away from anyone we consider family. And, let's face it, there are certain things that you only ask family to help with. My friends and coworkers in Dallas were fantastic though and I will never forget their generosity. One thing that will not change, however, is how many people we be in the room for delivery...5. That includes me, The Husband, the Doctor, the nurse and the baby. I am not one of those women who will give in and allow every person with a genetic link to be present for the birth. It just creeps me out.

3. We will master swaddling. I don't know how we will do it, but we will learn it, practice it, and make it work.

That is all for now. More to come.

It's Official...

I can now call myself a soccer mom. I am not so sure how excited I am to have that title, but I sure am excited about seeing my just turned 3 year old in a soccer uniform. Starting March 8th, The Boy will be playing coed Wee Soccer at the local YMCA. He is very excited, but I am not sure he knows why to be excited. We will see how it goes.
