Amoxicillan to the Rescue

It has been almost a year since The Boy has been to the doctor for an illness. I always try to wait at least a day before taking him into the doctor when he has a fever because nine time out of ten it is just a viral infection that has to run its course. Since The Boy had a fever for almost 36 hours, I decided to break down and take him to the doctor. We got the last appointment of the day...4:50 PM.

We get there and things move pretty quickly. The Doc is checking The Boy out, you know, looking in all his crevices, etc. She looks at The Boy with a quizzical expression.

Doc: Do your ears hurt, buddy?
The Boy: No.
Doc: Are you sure?
The Boy: Yes, they don't hurt.
Doc: Hmm, they should.

The doctor indicated to me that he should be in excruciating pain. He must really have a high tolerance for pain. I hope that he doesn't ever have something really serious, because it doesn't seem like pain would be an indicator. So, he has amoxicillan and his fever was gone within the first hour of ingesting the bubble gum flavored liquid.

We have been trying to keep The Girl away from The Boy with the hopes that she will not be attacked by the snot machine. She has made it six months without any illness. Last night she had a very low grade fever (100 degrees) and had a hard time sleeping, but it could have been her teeth. No fever this morning. I would hate for her to be sick too.

Poor baby! Guess he'll be feeling better soon. Good luck trying to keep the two of them apart. Whatever Luke gets, Evie gets, and vice versa.
